18 Holes — Course Maps

The History of I20 Disc Golf Course (2004–2026)

The I20 course was originally created in 2004 as a 9-hole course through a school project, but it eventually became overgrown due to a lack of maintenance. The course was later saved by dedicated locals and expanded to 18 holes in 2011 using recycled baskets from the Umeå Disc Golf Club (UDGC).

Between 2014 and 2015, the course received a major upgrade through volunteer efforts, regular maintenance, and new baskets, which caused its popularity to skyrocket. In 2016, UDGC formally took over the management to ensure the course's high standard. Further safety upgrades, including new stairs and bridges, were implemented in 2017.

To handle the massive and growing number of visitors, the area was expanded in 2018 with a new 9-hole loop, turning I20 into a complete 27-hole facility. That same year, statistics from the UDisc app confirmed the course's enormous popularity, ranking it as the most played course in Sweden, the 3rd most played in Europe, and the 6th most played in the world.

The course has continued to evolve since then. In 2021, the layout was adjusted: the original hole 18 was removed, and a new hole 13 was created to maintain a continuous 18-hole loop. Additionally, a significant number of trees were cleared to accommodate a rally car stage running through parts of the course.

In 2026, the club applied for a municipal grant to install 18 new baskets and new tees. To improve safety, several tee positions were moved slightly away from walking paths and roads. Furthermore, a new hole 15 and hole 16 were created to route the course away from the open areas utilized by the winter rally every year.
